QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME AN ARIZONA RANGER
The basic requirements to be considered for membership to the Arizona Rangers are that the interested party must:
- Be at least 21-years of age;
- Have a valid Arizona Driver’s License;
- Hold a current Arizona Weapons Permit (CWP);
- Live in Arizona at least six months of the calendar year;
- Meet the medical and physical requirements;
- Agree to attend a monthly business and training meeting;
- Agree to perform at least eight hours of duty per month;
- Spend, if necessary, approximately $2,000.00 for uniforms, firearm(s), and equipment needed to perform duties as
an Arizona Ranger. If the applicant already owns appropriate firearms, uniforms, duty equipment that cost
estimate will drop significantly;
- Agree to undergo a state and national background check and investigation by the Arizona Rangers. If one of the agencies we work with wants to do additional background checks the Ranger might need to agree to the additional background checks; and
- Understand, that it is not a requirement to have previous law enforcement and/or military experience.
Once the applicant has met or agreed to the items listed above and the Ranger Company will, privately, vote to allow them to start the next stage of the Probationary Ranger process. They are sworn in as a Probationary Ranger at that time.
